Lagos APC Sets Up 40-Man Campaign Council for Local Government Elections

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has constituted a 40-member campaign council to spearhead the party’s campaign for the upcoming local government elections slated for July 12.

The immediate past state chairman of the party and former Commissioner for Home Affairs, Babatunde Balogun, chairs the council, while the Chairman of Odi-Olowo Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area, Hon Razak Ajala serves as Secretary.

On Tuesday, the party’s spokesperson, Oluseye Oladejo, issued a statement outlining the campaign council’s structure, comprising six directorates: Mobilisation, Finance, Security, Media and Publicity, Electoral, and Special Duties.

Oyinlomo Danmole, Olufemi Daramola, Dr. Razak Balogun, Mogaji Oluseye Oladejo, Barr. Ademola Sadiq, and Dr. Lateef Ibirogba have been appointed to lead these directorates, respectively.

Furthermore, the party has appointed coordinators for each senatorial district, including Adejoke Orelope Adefulire and Barr. Abimbola Saliu Hundeyin for Lagos West Senatorial District, Abayomi Daramola and Chief (Mrs) Bolanle Olusanya for Lagos Central and East Senatorial Districts, respectively, with Chief Sunday Aboyade and Fatai Ayoola serving as Deputy Coordinators for the Lagos West Senatorial District.

In his address, the State Chairman congratulated the members on their appointment, urging them to promptly initiate their duties in light of the impending election.

He emphasized the necessity for the council to undertake a comprehensive campaign throughout the state, showcasing the party’s achievements and mobilizing the electorate to vote extensively for the APC.

The Campaign Council Chairman, Balogun, reassured the party of his team’s dedication to delivering on their mandate.

He expressed confidence that their performance would lay a solid foundation for the party’s victory in the 2027 national elections.

The council’s membership encompasses various interest groups and stakeholders, including women, youths, artisans, non-indigenous members, and party executives.
