The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has joined millions of families across Nigeria and around the world to celebrate mothers on the occasion of Mothering Sunday, a day set aside to honour their love, sacrifices, strength, and invaluable contributions to society.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Lagos APC Spokesman, Mogaji (Hon.) Seye Oladejo, paid glowing tribute to mothers for their vital role in nurturing families, shaping moral values, and raising the next generation of leaders.
According to him, mothers remain the backbone of society, playing critical roles not only within the home but also across sectors such as governance, business, education, and community development.
Oladejo noted that the party deeply appreciates the sacrifices mothers make daily to ensure the well-being, stability, and progress of their families, adding that their resilience, compassion, and guidance continue to inspire hope and strengthen the social fabric of Lagos State.
He also acknowledged the contributions of countless mothers across Lagos who are actively involved in commerce, public service, politics, and grassroots mobilization, describing their efforts as vital to sustaining the progress and prosperity the state enjoys.
“On this special day, the Lagos APC celebrates every mother — those raising young families, those mentoring communities, and those whose wisdom continues to guide generations,” he said.
The party further reaffirmed its commitment to policies and initiatives that empower women and mothers, promote family welfare, and expand opportunities for them to thrive.
Oladejo concluded by expressing gratitude to mothers for their immeasurable love and sacrifices while wishing them good health, strength, and fulfillment.
