Lagos APC Backs Tinubu’s FEC Address: “Nigeria Is Rising – No Opposition Bitterness Can Change It”

The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s recent address to the Federal Executive Council, describing it as “a masterclass in clarity, confidence, and leadership rooted in verifiable progress.”

The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s recent address to the Federal Executive Council, describing it as “a masterclass in clarity, confidence, and leadership rooted in verifiable progress.”

In a statement issued on Friday by the party’s spokesperson, Hon. Seye Oladejo, the Lagos APC said the President’s remarks reflected a government driven by results, not rhetoric or emotional blackmail.

According to Oladejo, while opposition figures “continue to drag Nigeria’s image through the mud in a bid to stay relevant,” President Tinubu is steadily rebuilding the nation “brick by brick, fact by fact, reform by reform.”

Tinubu: The President for This Season

Oladejo hailed the President as a leader “divinely aligned with the demands of this moment in history,” adding that Nigeria is fortunate to have a courageous, prepared, and focused president at a critical period.

“Where others panic, he strategises. Where others shout, he delivers. Where others sow fear, he inspires confidence,” the statement read.

Facts Don’t Lie – Even If the Opposition Does

The Lagos APC cited several economic milestones as evidence of the administration’s steady progress, including the oversubscription of Nigeria’s $2.35 billion Eurobond by over 400 percent — a move it described as “global investors voting with their money.”

Other indicators listed include:

  • 4.23% GDP growth, the highest in a decade;
  • Growth across 13 high-performing sectors;
  • Near-doubling of industrial growth;
  • Inflation decline to 18.02%;
  • Foreign reserves surpassing $43 billion;
  • ₦7.4 trillion trade surplus; and
  • Nigeria’s removal from the FATF Grey List.

“These are not propaganda figures,” Oladejo said. “They are the outcome of bold, courageous reforms that are now bearing fruit.”

Opposition’s Desperation Exposed

The Lagos APC accused opposition parties of engaging in anti-national conduct, including demarketing the country, praying for instability, and promoting fear to gain political traction.

“Instead of rising as statesmen, they chose bitterness. Instead of building, they wished the nation to collapse for political gain,” the statement continued.
“You cannot curse a land and hope to prosper in it. You cannot seek to lead a nation you secretly pray will fail.”

Oladejo warned that Nigerians would remember these actions at the polls in 2027, adding that recent developments have further exposed the opposition’s disunity and desperation.

A President Delivering, An Opposition Disintegrating

The statement noted that while President Tinubu continues to restore economic stability, strengthen foreign relations, and confront security challenges head-on, the opposition “is collapsing under the weight of its own pettiness.”

“Nigeria will not succumb to fear. Nigeria will not bow to mischief-makers. Nigeria will not be defined by those who trade in hopelessness,” Oladejo affirmed.

Conclusion

Reiterating its unwavering support for the President, the Lagos APC said leadership is measured by results, not noise.

“President Tinubu is delivering results with courage, clarity, and conviction. Nigeria is rising again — no matter whose bitterness is bruised by that progress,” the statement concluded.
