Earlier this morning Wednesday, (13/03/2024), a document showing the list of some purported locations of Lagos State Government Discount Food Market in Ikeja Federal Constituency was posted on Ikeja Progressives eForum on WhatsApp.
The Administrator of the platform Comrade Tayo Aderinola observed that no location was selected for the programme within Ikeja Local Government Council and this led to a series of agitated conversations with various suggestions on who should help correct the perceived anomaly.
In about an hour the Media Aide to Hon Adedamola Richard Kasunmu the Deputy Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Sola Folowosele posted the effort made by the representative of Ikeja Constituency II in the House.
The message read: Well, we are glad to inform you that, when the matter was brought to the attention of Honourable Deputy Majority Leader Adedamola Richard Kasunmu(ARK), earlier to this morning, he gladly informed us that he is aware of the program and that the initiative is real.
Not only that, Hon. Kasunmu confirmed to us that he’s already on the issue of getting appropriate location for Ikeja Central but needed to get confirmation from the Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture.
He immediately put a call through to the Commissioner on the subject matter and after their conversation, we have the following outcomes:
1–The Honourable Commissioner confirmed that the program is still at the planning stage and no document or statement has been released to the public on it by LASG.
2– The program was created by LASG to make food items available to Lagosians across all LGA/LCDAs at a discounted price.
3–The Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. Kasunmu has successfully ironed out the issue of having a suitable location within Ikeja central.
4– Tokunbo Alli Primary School on John Olugbo St, meets all the criteria required and therefore has been selected as the location for Ikeja Central.
This will be reflected on the final/official list
5–Hon. DML Kasunmu appreciates constructive engagements of this nature and thank you all for your interest in making life better for our people.
