Lagos State First Lady, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu on Monday called for an end to all forms of gender stereotypes against women, saying such was important to ensure a gender equal world.

Lagos State First Lady, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu on Monday called for an end to all forms of gender stereotypes against women, saying such was important to ensure a gender equal world.

The First Lady, in a message on her social media platforms to commemorate this year’s International Women’s Day celebration, also reiterated the need to frontally confront all forms of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence against women and girls.

“On this auspicious occasion of the International Women’s Day, I celebrate the achievements, resilience, commitment, passion and dedication of women and girls in our dear state and across the world.

“This celebration also presents a golden opportunity for us to forge a gender equal world, challenge gender stereotypes, maintain gender equal mindset and frontally confront all forms of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence against women in order to make the world a better place,” she said.
