The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has felicitated with traditionalists and practitioners of indigenous faith as they celebrate this year’s Isẹ̀sẹ̀ Day.
In a goodwill message, the Lagos State APC Chairman, Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi, commended traditionalists for their invaluable role in preserving the Yoruba people’s rich cultural heritage, traditions and ancestral values.
Ojelabi noted that through their knowledge, commitment and dedication, vital aspects of Yoruba history, language, customs, festivals and traditional wisdom have continued to be preserved and passed down from one generation to another.
He described traditionalists as important custodians of the cultural identity that makes the society unique, stressing that their efforts remain particularly significant in an increasingly changing world.
According to him, preserving indigenous traditions provides younger generations with a deeper understanding and appreciation of their roots, heritage and the values that have shaped the Yoruba people.
The APC Chairman reaffirmed the party’s commitment to promoting cultural diversity and heritage, while recognising the contributions of traditionalists to the preservation and promotion of Yoruba culture.
He wished all traditionalists, their families and communities peace, joy and renewed strength as they mark the celebration.
Happy Isẹ̀sẹ̀ Day!
Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi
