The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), has joined the global community in celebrating women as the world marks International Women’s Day.

In a message to commemorate the occasion, Dauda described women as a vital driving force behind many of the successes recorded in families, businesses, and communities.

Reflecting on this year’s theme, “Give To Gain,” the council chairman noted that societies achieve their greatest progress when women are intentionally supported with opportunities to grow, lead, and contribute meaningfully to development.

According to him, the principle aligns with the Ikeja Agenda, which emphasises inclusive development by creating opportunities for women to actively participate in economic, social, and community advancement.

“I and my beautiful wife, Temitope, celebrate all women around the world, especially the resilient, reliable, and hardworking women of Ikeja on this auspicious occasion. We pray that their labour of love will never go in vain,” Dauda stated.
