The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published the personal particulars, credentials and affidavits of 19 presidential candidates and their running mates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The documents, submitted through Form EC9, are now on display at INEC offices nationwide for public inspection, in compliance with the provisions of the Electoral Act, 2026.
According to the commission, the publication is in line with Section 29(3) of the Electoral Act, 2026, which requires INEC to display the personal particulars and credentials of candidates within 21 days of receiving their nominations from political parties.
INEC said the exercise is designed to promote transparency, accountability and public confidence in the electoral process by allowing Nigerians to scrutinise the information submitted by candidates seeking the nation’s highest office.
Members of the public can inspect the documents at INEC’s national, state and local government offices across the country. The commission noted that the exercise also provides an opportunity for eligible citizens to raise any legitimate objections or concerns in accordance with the law.
The publication marks another key milestone in preparations for the 2027 general elections, as INEC continues to implement statutory procedures ahead of the polls.
The commission is expected to announce the final list of qualified presidential candidates, their running mates and the political parties they represent after completing the nomination and verification processes.
