Ikoyi-Obalende LCDA holds stakeholders’ consultative forum for year 2022 budget

Ikoyi-Obalende Local Council Development Area, today Thursday 14th October 2021 at IJEH Primary Health Care Centre held a Stakeholders Consultative Forum in preparation for Y2022 Budget.

The consultative and interactive forum started with an opening prayer delivered  by an APC party stalwart and member of Ikoyi-Obalende NIREC in person of Pastor West.

Mr. L. O. Oloto, Council Manager, Ikoyi-Obalende LCDA In his welcome address, wished everyone a fruitful interactive budget preparation.

The Executive Chairman, Hon. Fuad Atanda-Lawal in his speech, thanked everyone for their support and made it known that his administration will continue to embark on projects that will have positive impact on the people.

The Council Mayor highlighted all his administration’s achievements so far and implored every resident of Ikoyi-Obalende and its environs to continue supporting his administration by working together to make Ikoyi-Obalende a better place for all.

Further, he made emphasis on partnership; being the 17th Goal of the SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS ( SDGs) policy. He said, he is ready to partner with companies, groups and individuals for the betterment of Ikoyi-Obalende LCDA.

Representatives from each Ward applauded the efforts of the Executive Chairman and his members during the interactive session after which they pleaded and asked the Chairman and his cabinet to help look into the matters that needed to be addressed: Curbing of Road Urchins and Okada Riders; sinking of boreholes with all accessories; Street names board (street names tag); Repair of road and drainages among others were proposed for inclusion in the proposed budget.

Prince S. A. Adeogun , a party stalwart and leader  commended the  efforts of the Executive Chairman and urged him to see to the facilities in the Primary Health Care ensuring that they are adequate and in  good working condition.

In his response, Hon Fuad attributed most of the bad roads to negligence and non-challant attitudes of the people towards maintaining the already repaired roads. He then implored everyone to endeavor to protect and maintain projects executed by the LCDA.

The Council Mayor implored all community members to report immediately any form of vandalization of Government properties and projects. He said actions will taken immediately and money spent on security will be diverted to meaningful projects and programmes for a better Ikoyi-Obalende LCDA.

Finally , the Executive Chairman promised to look into people’s needs and embark more on Empowerment programmes which will make the people useful to the society.
