Ikoyi-Obalende Local Council Development Area organized a special inter-denominational prayer session to mark the 57th birthday anniversary of Mr. Governor, His Excellency Babajide Olusola Sanwoolu. This is coming on the heels of showing appreciation to the performing Governor of Lagos State, the Centre of Excellence.
The indefatigable Executive Chairman of the most urbanised Local Government in sub-Saharan Africa, Hon. Fuad Atanda-Lawal ably represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Akinbowale Macauley in his keynote address extolled the Governor on the laudable developments we are seeing all over the state at this time.
According to the Council Mayor, one good term deserves another. The man that is poised at transformation of Lagos State should be allowed to continue these good work. As such, he implored all those present at this special prayer session to pray for the Governor and at the same time support the Governor’s 2nd term bid in order to enjoy more dividends of democracy.
Hon. Fuad Atanda-Lawal through the Vice Chairman informed that the Governor has so much been identified with developments in all the 57 Local Councils of Lagos State and that there is none without one or more state sponsored project as we speak.
In similar vein, transformation of modern Lagos State started with the vision of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the blueprint foundation he prepared has been religiously being executed by successive Governors after him. As such, all Lagosians are to necessarily not only pray for his success but to actively participate and support him being the Presidential flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress. A man did so much for Lagos State will turn the entire country around positively if allowed to become the President.
In similar manner, the first Officer of the Local Government in person of The Council Manager, QS Lookman Olanrewaju Thompson while acknowledging the importance of this birthday celebration, informed that His Excellency, Governor of Lagos State and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu both deserve special prayer for a smooth, free, fair and victory at the 2023 Gubernatorial and Presidential elections respectively.
At the Inter-denominational prayer session,
both Muslim and Christian Clerics led others in prayers. In his sermon, Pastor Adebambo Taiwo, the Councils Chief of Staff said 50 connotes freedom while 7 represents perfection. He led prayed for reelection of Sanwoolu for another 4-year term in order to continue and complete all ongoing state projects which he has commenced presently
Further, the Pastor prayed for Lagos State Governor Emeritus who laid the foundation for the New Lagos. He implored all the congregation to pray for the success of Asiwaju at the 2023 presidential election. He described the APC presidential flag bearer as a Mentor and Leader of leaders.
Alhaji Muhammed Bolaji, the Muslim Cleric
gave thanks to Almighty Allah for the type of leadership HE blessed Lagos State with. He said we need to do more supplication to God for a better future.
The Secretary to the Local Government Hon. Sulaimon Salawe while giving the vote of thanks appreciated the Executive Arm, Legislative Arm, Management and Staff of Ikoyi-Obalende for putting hands together for the success of this special prayer programme in honour of Mr. Governor and by extension Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
