The forum, organized by the Budget Department under the leadership of Dr. (Mrs.) Yemisi Razak, brought together councillors, political leaders, community heads, religious representatives, pressure groups, and members of various tribal associations — all contributing ideas towards a people-focused budget.

The Regent of Ikeja, Chief Isiaka Apena, graced the Ward A session, lending royal support to the participatory process. The interactive session allowed citizens to make suggestions, ask questions, and highlight key areas requiring government attention.May be an image of one or more people

In his remarks, the Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), commended the Budget Department for facilitating the engagement and appreciated the stakeholders for their cooperation and civic involvement. He emphasized that inclusive governance remains a core pillar of his administration’s I.K.E.J.A Agenda, assuring that the 2026 budget will reflect the true aspirations of the people.May be an image of one or more people

AKOD urged residents to support the council’s efforts by paying their taxes and levies as and when due, describing tax compliance as “the fuel that drives community development and enables government to deliver the dividends of democracy.”May be an image of one or more people

Also present at the event was the Vice Chairman, Hon. Abisola Omisore, who reiterated the administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and sustainable development across all sectors.May be an image of one or more people and crowd

Operation Puff Adder II – Police arrest 48 notorious criminal suspects

Following the flag-off of ‘Operation Puff Adder II’ by the Inspector General of Police, IGP M.A Adamu, NPM, mni on 15th February, 2021, to reinvigorate the ongoing fight against violent crimes in the country and bring the perpetrators to book, operatives of the FIB Intelligence Response Team IRT and Special Tactical Squad STS of the Force attached to the Operation Puff Adder II have arrested forty-eight (48) criminal suspects, including forty-seven (47) male and one (1) female, for their involvement and indictment in cases of armed robbery, kidnapping, unlawful possession of firearms, cybercrime/financial fraud and other heinous crimes in some parts of the country. Forty-one (41) prohibited firearms including fourteen (14) AK47 rifles, ten (10) AK47 Magazines, fifty-eight (58) live cartridges, four (4) AK47 live ammunition, four (4) POS Machines, two (2) laptop computers, eighteen (18) mobile phones, Internet MODEM and nine (9) ATM cards were recovered from the suspects in the operations.
