Ikeja Council Chairman Dauda Reschedules 100 Days Celebration to 100 Working Days

The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (popularly known as AKOD), has announced the postponement of activities earlier scheduled to commemorate his administration’s first 100 days in office.

The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (popularly known as AKOD), has announced the postponement of activities earlier scheduled to commemorate his administration’s first 100 days in office.

According to a statement released from Ikeja House, the celebration—initially slated for Tuesday, November 4, 2025—will now hold during the administration’s 100 working days in office, which falls on Sunday, December 14, 2025.

The statement noted that the 100 Working Days Celebration will feature a week-long series of events and engagements, reflecting the vision and principles of the I.K.E.J.A AGENDA, the administration’s development blueprint.

Explaining the rationale behind the decision, Chairman Dauda said the postponement was a strategic choice aimed at ensuring that ongoing infrastructural projects across the local government are completed to standard before being showcased to the public.

“Our administration believes in impact over optics,” AKOD stated. “While we have recorded notable progress in the last 100 days, several infrastructural projects are still ongoing due to the prevailing weather conditions. We prefer to celebrate when those projects are completed and delivering value to our people.”

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable development, emphasizing that the I.K.E.J.A AGENDA is not just a slogan but a practical framework designed to transform Ikeja and enhance residents’ quality of life.

“We are deliberate, strategic, and passionate about building a model local government that works for all,” he said.

Dauda expressed appreciation to the people of Ikeja for their continued support and confidence in his leadership, assuring them that his team remains focused on delivering good governance and impactful projects.

“I am sincerely grateful to the good people of Ikeja for their trust, encouragement, and cooperation. We will not relent until the dreams and aspirations of our people become a reality. The journey has just begun, and I can confidently say that better days are here,” he affirmed.

The statement concluded that the forthcoming 100 Working Days Celebration would provide an opportunity to showcase completed projects, review progress, and engage stakeholders on the next phase of development initiatives under the AKOD-led administration.
