The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), on Friday hosted the monthly prayer session with the Ikeja League of Imams at the Ikeja House Secretariat. The devotional gathering, introduced at the start of his administration, is aimed at seeking divine guidance for Nigeria, Lagos State, and the entire Ikeja community.
During the session, prayers were offered for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Senator Idiat Oluranti Adebule, House of Representatives member Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, and Lagos State lawmakers including Hon. Seyi Lawal and Hon. Adedamola Richard Kasunmu. The Chairman, Vice Chairman, councillors, management team, staff, and residents of Ikeja were also remembered in prayers for protection, wisdom, prosperity, and sustained progress.
Chairman Dauda expressed appreciation to the Imams for their unwavering partnership, describing their spiritual support as vital to the success of his administration. He noted that the consistent prayer sessions reinforce the government’s commitment to delivering impactful and people-centred governance.
In their remarks, the Ikeja League of Imams commended the Chairman’s inclusive leadership style and his continuous engagement with the religious community. They offered additional prayers for the peace, unity, and development of Ikeja.
The session ended on a note of renewed hope, with Chairman Dauda reaffirming his administration’s dedication to fostering a harmonious and prosperous local government through ongoing collaboration with faith leaders and residents.
