The foremost social club in Lagos State, the Ikeja Club has sworn-in Aare Musediq Adeleke as the 22nd President of the 57-years-old association at the inauguration of new Executives, along-side 11 others expected to steer the affairs for three years.
Aare Adeleke in his acceptance speech at the inauguration on Friday at the Adenusi Hall within the club premises on Awolowo way Ikeja, thanked the immediate past president Otunba Ayodeji Randle and executive council for their dedication and service to the club and promised that he and his team will leverage on their performance, which include infrastructural development.
On what to expect from the new executives in the next three years, the Ikeja Club’s President in a chat with Lagos Panorama said “I was part of the last executive, so we’re to continue with our activities and also improve on it” he affirmed.
On the challenges confronted by the previous executive and hope to solve, he noted the issue of flooding has been a major issue for the club and that there are plans already with an approval and he hope to get solved soon
Aare as he’s fondly addressed by members of the Ikeja Club thanked the club members for voting him, “I am truly humbled by the trust and confidence you have placed in my leadership abilities.
“I’m acutely aware of the weight of responsibilities it carries. I firmly believe that together, we achieve extraordinary things.”
The immediate past president Chief Ayodeji Randle on the achievements of his tenure, he said: “With a deep sense of humility, I sincerely want to appreciate everyone in no particular order for your selfless support during my tenure. The landmark achievements couldn’t have been possible without your understanding and commitment to my vision, especially the Management Council.
“I must confess to you today that I am happy and fulfilled that my desire and passion to rebrand Ikeja Club, especially making us one of the foremost social and recreational club and attracting corporate membership was greatly achieved giving room for more ground to explore.”
He urged the new President and Management Council not to abandon the “branding” because of the enormous benefits now and in the near future.
The new Vice President Barr Akin Omoyinmi Esq, who also chatted with Lagos Panorama said “incidentally he (Aare Musediq Adeleke) served as the Vice President of the previous executive so we are to improve on what the previous administration have done and these include infrastructure development, policy making for the club and a host of others”
