The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), has embarked on a comprehensive inspection tour of the Local Government Area to assess the state of infrastructure and identify areas requiring upgrades and development, aligning with the Infrastructural Development & Urban Renewal Promise of the I.K.E.J.A AGENDA, AKOD’s blueprint for delivering Better Days to the people of Ikeja.
TThe Chairman’s tour of Anifowoshe markets commenced, where he stressed the need for cleanliness and instructed that a public toilet facility be constructed to curb open urination and defecation.
He also visited Anifowoshe Primary School, inspecting the school buildings and noting the dilapidated state of some classrooms.
He pledged to rehabilitate the school and upgrade its facilities to world-class standards.
In Ipodo, the Chairman paid a courtesy call on the Regent of Ikeja, Chief Isiaka Apena, and inspected the condition of roads and drainages, assuring both the Regent and the CDC Chairperson, Alhaja Adefolami, that the Local Government will soon undertake desilting of the covered drainages.
He appealed for the cooperation of market stakeholders during the works.
At Computer Village, the Chairman engaged in in-depth briefings regarding market activities and reassured traders that the government would implement measures to ensure the hub’s efficiency and orderliness.
The Chairman undertook the inspection tour alongside the Vice Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Hon. Abisola Omisore, senior civil servants led by the Head of Human Resources, Comrade Jubril Aliu, and all Heads of Departments of the Local Council.
The core of AKOD’s leadership revolves around Ikeja’s comprehensive development, to be achieved through the I.K.E.J.A AGENDA for the betterment of all residents.
