They benefitted from the Life Assurance and Family Welfare Scheme under Nigeria’s Inspector General of Police, IGP Family Welfare Scheme.

Oyo Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Williams, who represented the IG said the move was in line with the IGP’s commitment to the welfare and well-being of Police personnel during and after active service.

Adebowale urged the beneficiaries to judiciously use the money for the upkeep and welfare of their families.

He said the IGP’s welfare scheme was meant to ameliorate the suffering or hardship faced by the deceased immediate family before the benefits of such officers are paid, praying for the departed souls.

Overwhelmed by emotions over the gesture of the IGP, the beneficiaries promised to make good and judicious use of the money which they said arrived very timely and period of urgent need.
