The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, on Thursday received the National Police Commissioner of the Royal Bahamas Police Force, Commissioner Shanta Emily Knowles, OM, at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, in a visit aimed at deepening global policing partnerships.
Commissioner Knowles’ courtesy visit forms part of ongoing efforts between both nations to strengthen cooperation in modern law enforcement. During the meeting, the two police chiefs held strategic discussions focused on advancing collaboration in training and capacity development, intelligence sharing, transnational crime prevention, security partnership frameworks, and enhanced border management strategies.
IGP Egbetokun expressed appreciation for the renewed engagement, noting that stronger ties between the Nigeria Police Force and the Royal Bahamas Police Force will deliver significant mutual benefits. He highlighted that joint training initiatives, knowledge exchange, and operational support systems are critical to improving security outcomes in an era where criminal networks operate across borders.
He reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to promoting international partnerships that bolster national security, emphasising that global cooperation remains essential to tackling evolving security threats.
The visit marks another milestone in Nigeria’s efforts to strengthen strategic policing alliances across regions.
