While political jobbers cladded themselves with the garb of calumny and hysterical shiboleth, all in an attempt to heat up the polity, ahead of the Lagos gubernatorial election in 2023. They should be told that the meteors of their soothsayer is yet to be seen in the sky, because the moonlight of His Excellency, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu shall glitter till sunrise in Lagos for another term until 2027!
To many observers, Sanwo-olu is still working, and must not be distracted.
The All Progressives Congress (APC), national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s foresight in unveiling technocrats for the administraton of Lagos State, has done one more better with introduction of the personality and charisma of an Sanwo-olu in Lagos State.
It will be an outright administrative disservice, judging by the ‘In-House’ policy of the All Progressives Congress (APC), master plan for a greater Lagos, if the incumbent Governor of Lagos State is replaced in preparation for 2023 governorship election in the State.
Let’s take a journey on the political and administrative policy of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu since 2019 for consideration, especially as it has affected the average Lagosians over the years.
Sanwo-olu came three years ago, during a turbulent transition of power that pitched Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu against the public, who felt emotional sympathy for the erstwhile Governor, His Excellency, Akinwunmi Ambode.
And as if built for the job, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu, rebranded the philosophy of APC in Lagos State; the Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu Campaign Organization (BOSCO), brought life, enthusiasm, hope and new fervour of patriotism to APC before residents in Lagos.
The incumbent Governor showed resilience, his eclectic corporate pedigree were compelling, and it created suspension of disbelief for a greater Lagos!
There was impulsive admiration for the national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, especially on his political alacrity and exceptional depth, and to the people of Lagos, the Jagaban of Borgu is right and always shall be right!
Like a team player, His Excellency, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu, launched his administrative master plan tagged: THEMES, and behold; a massive transformation ensued in the governance of Lagos State.
For a man of such mien; Sanwo-olu has transformed the social relationships of government officials with Lagosians, to become responsive, interactive, engaging and solution savvy in the most empathetic manner one could ever conjure in Lagos politics!
From the openness and accountability procedure in the Lagos State Transport Management Agency (LASTMA), towards providing a workable solution to traffic congestions and offences in Lagos metropolis, to the masses oriented programs and projects through the ministry of Civil Engagement in Lagos State.
Mr. Governor, Sanwo-olu, has injected the spirit of possibilities in an enabling environment for practitioners in the creative industry, as Del-York Creative Academy, recieved Lagos State government’s endorsement and support for the exploration and development of innate talents among youths with the most imaginative skills in Lagos.
His administration has liberated budding entrepreneurs in Lagos with the promotion of micro small and medium enterprise in the state.
The ministry of Wealth Creation has taken dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of the masses across the 57 LGA’s and LCDAs’in Lagos, through training and granting of loans (LSETF), to successful applicants who undergo training from the wide range of crafts available from the ministry.
The health sector in Lagos has been redefined with the Lagos State Health Scheme (LSHS) organized by the Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA). This is a novel idea from Mr. Governor, as the health insurance scheme which has been spread across communities in Lagos State, will enlighten and effect good living conditions and lifestyles among residents.
For Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu, his administrative response towards management of the youth uprising, that culminated into the infamous ENDSARS, couldn’t have been comforting and healing without a conclusive White Paper that was presented, after the Judicial Panel of Inquiry that sat over the ENDSARS saga.
His Excellency, together with the management team of the Lagos State Health Ministry, headed by the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi, ensured that the 17, 552, 940 estimated population of Lagos State did not go into extinction, during the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic. Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu, worked and saved lives for posterity!
The infrastructural development in Lagos State, especially in the areas of road repairs and construction of new highways for the comfort of Lagos residents is comforting and noble. Vehicular movement across Ketu, Ikorodu, Lagos-Island, Ajah and other environs, can heave a sigh of relief with improved human and vehicular transportation in Lagos metropolis.
The waterways have been branded with efficiency, through the Lagos State Ferry services, and no thanks to the innovation from a daring Ladi Balogun led management team, who has been berthing passengers from most islands to safety in Lagos cities.
Arts and culture has been sustained in Lagos through the ministry responsible for sustaining the cultural legacies in Lagos, and with anticipated revenue generation that can be explored from the rich cultural features at historical sites in the State.
For Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu, Lagos has continued to sustain her commercial excellence status, and such has increasingly paved way for corporate businesses and the informal sectors to remain and believe in Lagos.
Sanwo-olu should not be distracted by traducers, this is the time to uphold the new trend and moment of glory for the All Progressives Congress (APC), nationally and in Lagos State, because the hope for a better Nigeria is here to be proclaimed through Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Presidency, and Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu must be allowed to lead the crusade from the front, across South-West and beyond the boarders of River Niger and Benue in Nigeria, for a resounding victory of APC in 2023.
And without further ado, mischief makers should forget the intrigues, for Sanwo-olu is working!
