Local Government Chairmen in Lagos State have been advised to be more committed to the development and empowerment of the people at the grassroot.
This was the assertion of the former Deputy Governor of Lagos State and Lagos West APC Senatorial District Candidate, Dr Idiat Oluranti Adebule during the 2nd term, one year in office celebration of Executive Chairman of Ojo Local Government, Hon. Rasulu Olusola Idowu at Ojo Local Government Secretariat, yesterday.
Dr. Oluranti opined that the Ojo Local Government Chairman has demonstrated phenomenal and quality leadership at the grassroot during the time under review, adding that other Chairmen should emulate the laudable achievements of Hon. Rasulu Olusola Idowu in Ojo Local Government.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Hon. Rasulu Olusola Idowu commented that the achievements recorded were tips of the ice berg that his administration is poised to record many more feats in years to come.
Hon.Idowu further reiterated his commitment on Infrastructural renewal, Economic Empowerment for the Youths and Women, noting that plans have been concluded to build modern vocational centres and Mini stadium for the Youths.
Other highlights of the event were enlightenment talk on drug abuse and conferment of the Awards of Ambassador of War Against Drug Abuse on the Chairman and Wife by the Deputy Commander, NDLEA, Lagos State Command: Eziaghighala Chiyerem, DCN,.In response to this gesture, the Chairman promised to donate mini bus to aid the Agency smooth operation at the Local Government Area.
