On Thursday Hon Adenuga Ayotunde Deputy Leader Ikeja Legislative Council commissioned a borehole for the Onilekere Community.
The Councillor representing Ward C (Onilekere/Onigbetesi)/, Ikeja LGC while responding to our correspondent at the event the soft-spoken grassroots lawmaker noted that, “I discovered the need of my people, I felt it was pertinent we get a s
olution. There was a particular morning on my way out, I saw a lot of people moving around with buckets, jerricans in search of water. I felt very bad and at that point I made up my mind that every kobo I was going to make in the next few months I was going to put it together to ensure we have a lasting solution to the issue of water. That was one of the reason that propelled this decision”.
Ayotunde also said that “maintaining the project won’t be a problem, I am resident in the community and whenever issues come up I will definitely know and proffer solution to it. I am going to work hand in hand with the CDA (Community Development Association) to ensure it’s a lasting sustainable project for the benefit of the community”.
The first-term councillor also hinted that this is second of five projects he hope to accomplished before end of his first term.
The water-borehole that situates at the Shodeke/Egba streets junction Onilekere was officially commissioned by the Executive Chairman Ikeja Local Government Council Hon Mojeed Balogun. The event was well attended by Community leaders and members which includes the All Progressives Congress Ikeja Chairman Alhaji Dally Adeokun and other members of his executives, religious leaders and a host of others.
