In a significant development at the Agege Local Government, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Tunde Azeez, popularly known as Disco, has resigned from office, citing health challenges that have affected his ability to effectively discharge his official duties.
Hon. Azeez formally submitted his resignation letter to the Agege Local Government Legislative Arm, where it was read and deliberated upon during plenary.
In its resolution, the legislative council acknowledged Hon. Azeez’s commitment and contributions to public service, commending his leadership and dedication to the progress of Agege. Members expressed their best wishes for his full recovery and future endeavours, noting that his decision reflected a commendable prioritization of health and personal well-being.
Following deliberations, the house unanimously adopted a resolution accepting his resignation, which takes immediate effect.
This development marks the beginning of a transition toward a new leadership structure aimed at sustaining the council’s focus on effective governance and community service.
Subsequently, the legislative arm unanimously approved Hon. AbdulGaniyu Abdul-Ganiyu Vinod Oba as the new Executive Chairman of Agege Local Government.
