The Executive Chairman Onigbongbo LCDA Hon Oladotun Olakanle has inaugurated and proclaimed the Onigbongbo Legislative Council on Tuesday
The Council Chairman in his opening remark urged the Legislative Council to work in synergy with the executive for the common good of people of the council area.
The proclamation which took place after a inauguration coordinated by the legal team led by Mrs Oshodi Kemisola Bolanle, saw Hon Kayode Opayemi representing Ward D Opebi in Onigbongbo LCDA emerged as the leader of the house.
Other elected principal Officers include Hon Rasheed Olusola Isiaka representing Ward A as Deputy Leader, Hon Bello Isiaka representing Ward B GRA as the Chief Whip. While, Hon Azeez Adebayo Daud representing Ward F emerged as the Majority Leader.
Hon Mutiu Kareem (ONILE) representing Ward E was elected as the Deputy Majority Leader.
The council boss in his speech on behalf of the GAC member representing Onigbongbo LCDA Dr Abayomi Oluyomi Finnih appreciates all the APEX leaders while he prayed for the soul of his late principal Hon Francis Babatunde Oke to continue to rest in peace.
The Chairman also urged all the Councillors to join hands in transforming the entire council as one of his administration so as to add values that could put Onigbongbo on the path of glory.
He implored the principal officers among the councillors to see their emergence as an act of God which has made them servants of the people at the grassroot.’ We should all be Progressive minded’ he added.
In his inaugural speech, the new leader of the house Hon Kayode Opayemi on behalf of other Councillors assured the council Chairman of their cooperation in achieving people oriented development across the six wards. According to him, there can be no success if there is no unity and cooperation.
