HON FUNMILAYO AKANDE MUHAMMED Empowers Residents of Apapa Iganmu LCDA with 21 tricycles

The Executive Chairman of Apapa Iganmu LCDA, Hon. (Dr). Funmilayo Akande Muhammed stated this at the presentation of the tricycles to the beneficiaries on Thursday in Apapa Iganmu.
The Executive Chairman of Apapa Iganmu LCDA, Hon. (Dr). Funmilayo Akande Muhammed has distributed 21 tricycles to members of his residents towards improving their social and economic wellbeing.

The Erelu Yeye Bobashelu of Ojora Kingdom, Hon. (Mrs). Funmilayo Akande Muhammed give out 21 tricycles to beneficiaries from the four communities that made up Apapa Iganmu LCDA which are, Orile Sari Iganmu, Oke-Oja, Badia and Marine Beach communities in a bid to reduce poverty, aid financial stability and reduce crime rate.

In her welcome address/speech delivered at the council secretariat, she said, “We kicked off 100 days celebration with the presentation of six (6) Toyota Sienna vehicles to some beneficiaries in order of priority, we intend to continue to do more as we move on”.

“Today, we are giving out 21 tricycles popularly known as (Keke Marwa) to some beneficiaries despite the obvious challenges and peculiarity of this environs. You’ll agree with me that, it’s no child play to govern Apapa Iganmu LCDA”.

“The 100 days celebration continues with many palliatives and people-oriented programs, poverty alleviation, free health mission, free eyes screening, free eye glasses, treatment of minor ailments and more, youth empowerment, 156 youths trained on POS will be giving Point on Sales (POS) machine, chairs, desks, umbrella with the sum of #25,000 to start with”.

The aged are not left out, the vulnerables, the petty traders, the artisans will be given fridges, make-up kits, grinding machines, semovita, #50,000 cash, #30,000 cash respectively and many more. She concluded

The council manager Mrs Morounkeji Okwuonu advised the beneficiaries to use the keke napep as if they laboured to get it for the benefits of their families and the community inother to makeup for the purpose for which the empowerment was made.

One of the beneficiaries of the Keke Napep is a man with disability which he said,is very happy with the kind gesture the Chairman showed to him and the other beneficiaries, he also advised the other Beneficiaries to make use of what the Chairman gave them well inother to be self employed and use the money gained to buy many more for business
