
The gentleman so passionately dedicated to public service, Mr. Hakeem Olayinka Muri-Okunola, the 21st Lagos State Head of Service fondly called HMO, by his social moniker, turns 50 today, Friday January 7, 2022 and was celebrated by persons and institutions for his Midas touch had impacted in ways too numerous to mention.
The erudite, suave, temperate, meticulous and vastly skilled public administrator has built a staggering resume that prepares him for leadership of the Centre of Excellence.
HMO belongs to the pantheon of the true Omo Eko (Lagos aboriginals) devoid of the brashness of the street erroneously believed by many to be the incurable indiscretion of the Lagos boys.
Mr Hakeem Muri-Okunola, was commended for his doggedness, resilience, immense contributions and commitment by the Executive Assistant Maritime Affairs to the Governor, Mr Yommy Segun Sopitan at the Adeyemi Bero Hall, Secretariat Alausa, during a get- together organised to mark the 50th birthday of the Lagos State Head of Service and the symbolic presentation of Life jackets to school Children living in the 15th local governments and Local Council Development Areas, LCDAs, in the state.

Mr. Sopitan noted that out of 57 local governments and LCDAs 15 are surrounded by water
He averred that the Head of Service in his humanity drive has over the years demonstrated Commitment and interest in the safety and security of students in the state hence the distribution of safety jackets to children in the areas to mark his birthday.
According to Sopitan, the office deemed it necessary to support and celebrate the HOS because he is a hard working public servant and a key master in Sanwo-Olu’s administration themes agenda, praying that God would continue grant him long life. In his remarks, the HOS thanked the office for the gesture while expressing his committment to the growth and development of the State public service
