Harmony Estate CDA partners Neighbourhood Safety Corps, NSCDC on security consciousness

In line with the present security challenges in the country and the commitment of the executives aimed at strengthening cureurrent security architecture, Ifako Ijaiye Harmony Community Development Association in partnership with the Neighbourhood Safety Corps as well as Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has taken a collaborative efforts with the government security personnel in order to ensure improved security architecture in the Estate.

In line with the present security challenges in the country and the commitment of the executives aimed at strengthening cureurrent security architecture, Ifako Ijaiye Harmony Community Development Association in partnership with the Neighbourhood Safety Corps as well as Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has taken a collaborative efforts with the government security personnel in order to ensure improved security architecture in the Estate.

Appreciating the invite from the Estate exco by the PRO of the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC), Ayilara Adedayo at the September monthly general meeting of Ifako Ijaiye Harmony Community Development Association held on Saturday, September 25, 2021, she noted specifically that security and safety do not end with manning the estate gate with security personnel or locking one’s doors against would-be intruders but the utmost need to be self disciplined, conscious and cautious.

The officer admonished the residents on how they engage maids otherwise referred to as “house help” just as she was quick to alert on the risk and dangers associated with abandoned vehicles for a period of time to which the corps will be readily available to render service at ensuring such vehicles are removed.

These issues, amongst others, according to her have serious security implications if not properly looked into.

The Coordinating Officer, Neighbourhood Watch in Ifako Ijaiye Local Government who was also in attendance, Onipede Babatunde said the Neighbourhood boss Mr Falade Oyekan has ordered the corps to return to the community patrolling to ensure and enforce sanity.

He solicited the cooperation of the estate at giving useful information to enable them perform effectively.

In another development, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) led by Mr Akib Opeyemi enlightened the estate members on the operations of the Civil Defence which include prosecution of offenders and attending to emergencies in the community among other things.

In his remarks, the chairman of Association, Alhaji Isa Egbeyemi commended the outfit for honouring the invitation while assuring that the estate security architecture will be ready to work with them as well as ensure useful information will be made available from time to time as the need arises taken with the utmost seriousness and urgency it deserves while looking forward to the patrolling of the security personnel as promised from time to time in the Estate to build confidence in residents as well as lay off possible hibernating criminals

The chairman however sought for the support and cooperation of the residents in order to ensure that the estate is secured and habitable at all times.

The essence of the invitation was to ensure collaboration with security personnel for improved security upgrade in Harmony Estate.
