Dr. Seyi Bamgbade, Director General of the Tinubu AMBO Support Group, has dismissed as false and unfounded a rumour alleging that he received ₦100 million through Hon. James Abiodun Faleke to declare support for Dr. Obafemi Kadri Hamzat.
In a statement, Bamgbade described the claim as baseless, stressing that he neither received funds from Hon. Faleke nor from Dr. Hamzat in exchange for political support. He reaffirmed his longstanding reputation as a committed grassroots mobiliser within the progressive fold.
He noted that his loyalty to the party has been consistent, recalling his active role as Director General of the Tinubu AMBO Support Group in supporting former Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, from his emergence in 2015 through efforts toward a second-term bid.
Bamgbade also referenced Ambode’s recent congratulatory message to Dr. Hamzat following his emergence as the consensus governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State for the 2027 election, describing it as a reflection of unity within the party.
Reiterating his commitment to the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Agenda, Bamgbade emphasised the importance of party supremacy, noting that members must align with party decisions in the interest of cohesion and progress.
He urged the public and party faithful to disregard the rumour, describing it as a deliberate attempt to mislead and create division.
Bamgbade assured that he and his team remain focused on promoting the ideals of the APC and working towards success in future elections.
