HAJJ 2022: First batch of Lagos pilgrims return

No fewer than 430 Lagos State pilgrims, who took part in the Year 2022 holy pilgrimage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, have returned home safely.

No fewer than 430 Lagos State pilgrims, who took part in the Year 2022 holy pilgrimage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, have returned home safely.
 
The pilgrims touched down at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja at exactly 9.04 pm on Sunday, July 17, 2022, and expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for His Mercy throughout the pilgrimage.
 
Appreciating the State Government and its officials for their selfless efforts in ensuring that the hajj rites were performed without stress, the participants acknowledged that the journey was smooth and devoid of any serious health challenges or death.
 
Officials of the Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, led by Mrs. Ganiyat Ojomu, Head of Administration and Human Resource, were on ground to receive the pilgrims at the airport.
 
According to the flight schedule released by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), the return journey which commenced with the first batch on Sunday, July 17 will run through to July 31, when the entire 1,655 pilgrims airlifted for the spiritual exercise in six batches, are expected to be in Lagos.
 
The second batch of returning pilgrims is expected on Tuesday, July 19, 2022.
