Ogbomoso born, Nigerian, Tope Adebayo, popularly known as Tope Maggie is the newest Guinness World Record (GWR) holder of the longest cooking marathon as he breaks 200-hour Cooking Challenge records to beat the current holder, Alan Fisher an Irish based in Japan..

He had set a 200-hour cook-a-thon target, about eight days ago. The event, which started on Thursday by 6pm, held at Ogbomoso Recreation Club, opposite LAUTECH College of Health Sciences, Isale-General, Ogbomoso, Oyo State. He commenced his quest for the longest cooking marathon on Nov 9, 2023, which came to an end at exactly 3am this morning.
In June, prior to the cook-a-thons kick-off, Tope Maggie announced that his application to break this cooking record had been approved, revealing his initial plan to cook for 140 hours and 20minutes.
However, With Alan Fisher breaking Hilda Baci record with 119 hours 57 minutes, 24 hours more than that of the previous holder, officially announced 7th November 2023, Tope Maggie decided to up his game 200 hours instead.
While waiting the official pronouncement, Congratulations to Chef Tope Maggie and his team for completing a 200-hour Cook-A-Thon, which came to an end at exactly 3am this morning.
