Suspected armed bandits, on Monday, killed one person and kidnapped two others in Sepeteri, Saki East Local Council of Oyo State.
The incident occurred inside the Old Oyo National Park.
According to a source, some residents and local vigilante officials, however, engaged the bandits in a gun duel, which led to the rescue of one of the abducted victims.
The source said the names of the victims are yet unknown, while Police authorities were in pursuit of the criminal gang.
In related development, a yet- to be identified gunmen suspected to be armed robbers have reportedly killed a commercial motorcyclist in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The incident occurred at Olorunda Aba town in Lagelu Local Council of the state.
It was gathered that the motorcyclist was conveying his assailants to an unknown destination before he was attacked and killed.
“The gunmen went away with his motorcycle,” the eyewitness said.
Meanwhile, spokesperson for Oyo State Police Command, Adewale Osifeso, was yet to comment on the issue.
