The League of Former Ward Chairmen, Ikeja Federal Constituency, has congratulated the newly re-elected and elected Local Government Area (LGA) and Ward executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikeja Federal Constituency.

In a statement signed by its Coordinator, Comrade ’Tayo Aderinola on Sunday, the League commended the re-election of Alhaja Olusola Kokumo as Chairman of Ojodu LGA, alongside the emergence of Hon. Adetoro Adebowale (Ikeja LGA) and Mr Babatunde Obanubi (Onigbongbo LGA) as new LGA Chairmen. It also extended congratulations to all newly elected LGA and Ward executives.
The group prayed for wisdom, good health and the grace for the new officers to excel in their respective responsibilities, noting that their leadership would be pivotal to strengthening party unity and deepening grassroots mobilisation across the constituency.

Describing their emergence as a call to service, the League urged the executives to discharge their duties diligently, defend party policies at the Federal, State and Local Government levels, and consolidate the APC’s political structures within the constituency.
The statement also conveyed appreciation to the party’s national leader and President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for providing what it described as a progressive platform for sustainable grassroots development. The League expressed confidence that his second term would usher in renewed hope and prosperity for Nigerians.

It further lauded the Member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt Hon James Abiodun Faleke, for presenting 2025 Toyota Prado SUVs to the outgoing LGA Chairmen, Mayegun Dally Adeokun and Alhaja Iyabode Akerele, in recognition of their contributions to party growth.

According to the League, Faleke’s empowerment initiatives, free comprehensive healthcare outreaches and commitment to sustainable grassroots infrastructure development have positively impacted residents of Ikeja Federal Constituency and beyond.

The association also commended party leaders and members for ensuring the peaceful and seamless conduct of the Ward and LGA congresses.
“Once again, we congratulate the new executives and pray for continued progress for our great party,” the statement concluded.
