The Former Ward Chairmen of the Progressives party in Ikeja Federal Constituency have declared their solidarity support for Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda, Chairmanship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for Ikeja Local Government Council in the forthcoming local government election scheduled for 12th July 2025.
Led by Coordinator Comrade Tayo Aderinola, the association paid a courtesy visit to the Chairmanship candidate’s campaign office on Wednesday, expressing their solidarity support and presenting him with banners as a symbol of their readiness to canvass votes for one of their own, Comrade Akeem Dauda, a former Ward Chairman.
Aderinola expressed his appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for creating opportunities for community development and political growth.
“The former Ward chairmen of the progressives party conveyed gratitude to the party leadership, notably President Tinubu and Rt Hon James Abiodun Faleke, for Comrade Akeem Dauda’s emergence, showcasing the value of hard work and loyalty”.
“Ten years after facing setbacks in his State Assembly aspirations, Comrade Akeem Dauda has become the APC Chairmanship candidate”.
“The former Ward chairmen are poised to mobilize extensive support for Comrade Akeem Dauda, aiming to achieve the highest votes ever recorded in Ikeja local government’s election history. The banners presented signify solidarity and readiness to support Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda” Comrade Aderinola affirmed.
The Chairmanship candidate responded with gratitude to the association, emphasizing the importance of their continued guidance for Ikeja’s sustainable development. Comrade Dauda also expressed his heartfelt thanks to President Tinubu, Rt Hon Faleke, and all the leaders who facilitated his election as the party’s flag bearer.
The DG for the LOC Akeem Dauda and Abisola Omisore Campaign, Comrade Tunde Brito, also thanked the former Ward chairmen for their support.
The Igbo Vision were also in attendance to present banners to Comrade Dauda and pledged to mobilize votes from all Igbo ethnic groups in Ikeja to support the APC chairmanship candidate.
Akeem Dauda and Abisola Omisore’s APC Ikeja LOC led by the DG and Chairman APC Ikeja, Maiyegun Dally Adeokun initiated a series of consultations, beginning with a visit to the palace of the Regent of Ikeja, Chief Adekunle Apena, to seek royal blessings.
This was followed by a courtesy visit to the Ikeja Central Mosque, where the team was received by the Imams and the League of Alfas, who welcomed the APC Chairmanship, Vice Chairmanship, and six Councillorship candidates.
The APC Ikeja LOC also engaged with traditional worshippers, the community development association, and the Christian Association of Nigeria, culminating in a palace reception with sumptuous food and assorted drinks.
