The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, Dr. Afolabi Tajudeen has reaffirmed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to addressing the needs of Lagosians amid the ongoing economic challenges.
He said this at the presentation of cheques to another set of more than 100 beneficiaries of the present administration’s Financial Assistance programme held on Wednesday at the Office of Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, Alausa, Ikeja.
The Special Adviser, while welcoming the beneficiaries, said that Sanwo-Olu’s Administration is fully committed to ensuring that every resident feels supported and valued regardless of the difficulties they face.
Reiterating the role of each resident in maintaining peace and stability in the state, Dr. Afolabi appeals to all Lagosians to uphold law and order in the face of the planned protest.
“The distribution of cheques taking place is one of the various ongoing social intervention programmes of this Administration. It has been planned before the issue of the protest, and it is out of the Governor’s kind heart. He feels your plight and he will never be tired of putting smiles on the faces of Lagosians. We all have a part to play in ensuring our state remains safe for us all. Therefore I urge you all to play your part by maintaining law and order while going about your normal activities as usual”. he added.
Showering encomium on the Lagos State Governor, one of the beneficiaries, Mr. Adeyemi Hassan said that the initiative is a step in the right direction, especially at this time of economic hardship, adding that the fund received will be judiciously used to solve his prevailing health issues.
Also present at the cheque presentation ceremony is the Permanent Secretary, Office of Political, Legislative & Civic Engagement, Engr. (Ms.) Sholabomi Shasore.
