Super Eagles and Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen has opened up on how he feels about the return of Odion Ighalo to the national team.

Handlers of the Super Eagles recalled Ighalo to the national team for the World Cup qualifying matches against Liberia and Cape Verde citing the need for experienced players in the squad.

The former Manchester United striker retired from the Super Eagles more than two years ago.

Other young strikers such as Taiwo Awuniyi, who is making waves in Germany, Paul Onuachu, among others are taking Europe by storm yet the Nigerian coach recalled Ighalo from retirement.

Asked about the return of the striker, Osimhen told the Super Eagles media team that he is looking forward to playing with him, adding, “It’s good for the team and of course the coaches and the Federation know what’s best for the team.

“We welcome him with open arms and look forward to receiving him in the camp.

“Like I said before he’s like a big brother to me and we love him a lot and I’ll learn a lot from him, I admire him so much so I think for me it’s one of the most important things to have him in the squad.

“We all have a common goal to qualify the nation for the World Cup and to do well in the AFCON so whatsoever thing that is good for the team I think the coach and the Federation will bring it into play,” Osimhen concluded.
