In further demonstration of its commitment to inclusive community development, Fidelity Bank Plc has extended charitable support to Oluyole Cheshire Home, Ibadan, through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) platform, the Fidelity Helping Hands Programme (FHHP).

The outreach, undertaken in the spirit of the festive season, saw the bank donate food items, toiletries and other essential supplies to children living with disabilities at the home, with the aim of easing its operational burden and improving the welfare of its residents.

Speaking during the visit, the Divisional Head, Brand and Communications Division, Mr. Meksley Nwagboh, said the initiative went beyond seasonal charity, reflecting the bank’s long-standing commitment to social inclusion and community welfare.

He explained that the Fidelity Helping Hands Programme is a staff-driven CSR initiative designed to empower employees to identify and execute impactful community development projects. According to him, the Oluyole Cheshire Home outreach was spearheaded by the Visionary Team of newly inducted employees as part of the bank’s structured onboarding process.

“This home caters to children with special needs, who are among the most vulnerable members of our society. Through this donation, we are contributing our quota to their welfare,” Nwagboh said.

He added that Fidelity Bank’s CSR focus spans education, health, social welfare, environmental sustainability and youth empowerment, noting that new employees are deliberately immersed in these values from the outset of their careers.

“The Visionary Team has demonstrated that beyond banking, we have a responsibility to care for society. This is central to who we are as an institution,” he said.

Receiving the donations on behalf of the home, a senior caregiver and representative, Mr. Jimoh Taiwo, expressed gratitude to the bank for its support, describing the gesture as timely and impactful. He also appealed to other individuals and organisations to support vulnerable groups, particularly during the festive period.

“We sincerely appreciate Fidelity Bank for this kind gesture. It means a lot to the children and the home. We encourage other well-meaning Nigerians and organisations to emulate this by putting smiles on the faces of the less privileged,” Taiwo said.

With the outreach, Fidelity Bank continues to reinforce its reputation as a socially responsible financial institution, placing inclusion, compassion and shared progress at the core of its corporate values.
