FG, States, LGs Share ₦2.103 Trillion September Revenue — FAAC

Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has shared a total sum of ₦2.103 trillion to the Federal Government, States, and Local Government Councils as revenue generated in September 2025.

The allocation was made during the October 2025 FAAC meeting held in Abuja, according to a communiqué issued at the end of the session.

The total distributable revenue of ₦2.103 trillion comprised ₦1.239 trillion from statutory revenue, ₦812.593 billion from Value Added Tax (VAT), and ₦51.684 billion from the Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL).

FAAC disclosed that a gross total revenue of ₦3.054 trillion was recorded for September 2025, out of which ₦116.149 billion was deducted as cost of collection, while ₦835.005 billion went into transfers, interventions, refunds, and savings.

According to the communiqué, gross statutory revenue stood at ₦2.128 trillion, representing a ₦710.134 billion decrease compared to ₦2.838 trillion received in August 2025. Meanwhile, VAT collections improved significantly, rising to ₦872.630 billion in September from ₦722.619 billion in August — an increase of ₦150.011 billion.

From the ₦2.103 trillion total distributable revenue, the Federal Government received ₦711.314 billion, the 36 State Governments received ₦727.170 billion, and the 774 Local Government Councils got ₦529.954 billion. Additionally, ₦134.956 billion (representing 13% derivation revenue) was shared among the oil-producing states.

Breakdown of the allocation shows that from the ₦1.239 trillion statutory revenue, the Federal Government received ₦581.672 billion, States ₦295.032 billion, and Local Governments ₦227.457 billion, while ₦134.956 billion went to the derivation fund.

From the ₦812.593 billion VAT pool, the Federal Government got ₦121.889 billion, States ₦406.297 billion, and Local Governments ₦284.408 billion.

Similarly, from the ₦51.684 billion Electronic Money Transfer Levy, the Federal Government received ₦7.753 billion, States ₦25.842 billion, and Local Governments ₦18.089 billion.

FAAC further reported that Import Duty, VAT, and EMTL revenues increased significantly in September, while Companies Income Tax (CIT) and CET Levies declined. Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT) recorded a marginal increase, even as Oil and Gas Royalties and Excise Duties dropped slightly.
