Rt Hon James Abiodun Faleke annual free medical outreach has commenced with massive turnout from Lagos State residents.

The Ikeja Local Government Auditorium is currently hosting the sixth edition of the Free Medical Outreach, an annual healthcare programme facilitated by Rt Hon Faleke, ranking member of the House of Representatives for Ikeja Federal Constituency, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health/Federal Dental College of Technology And Therapy.

According to Mr. Ademola Banjo, Personal Assistant to Rt Hon Faleke, stated that the healthcare program, held in conjunction with Doctors on the Move Africa and facilitated by Rt Honorable James Abiodun Faleke, is an annual event.
He noted that “this is the 6th edition, which commenced on Thursday in Ikeja Federal Constituency and is expected to last for 15 days, covering Ikeja Local Government, Ojodu and Onigbongbo LCDAs”.

He emphasized that the treatment is free of charge, including surgical operations, and will be provided to constituents regardless of tribe, religion, or political affiliation.
Doctor Joseph Haruna Kibu, Team Leader of Doctors on the Move Africa, in a chat with Lagos Panorama said that the organization is initiating a wide-ranging 15-day medical outreach program, sponsored by Rt Hon James Abiodun Faleke.
The program begins with a three-day phase at Ikeja Local Government, followed by a three-day period at Onigbongbo and Ojodu LCDAs.
The team will then visit Police College, wrapping up the program at Military Cantonment Ikeja on the final day.

Doctor Kibu commended Rt thanked Hon Faleke’s unwavering dedication to the less privileged, highlighting that the medical outreach has assisted over 40,000 patients in the last four years, including over 2,000 surgeries in various medical specialties.
He emphasized that while government efforts are insufficient, such outreach programs are crucial in addressing the gaps in healthcare delivery.
Doctor Kibu thanked Rt Hon Faleke for his continued sponsorship and the Lagos State Government and Ikeja Local Government for their support in hosting the event.

The Faleke’s Free Medical Services encompass Outpatient Consultations and Dispensing of Medication, Laboratory Tests including Malaria, Diabetes, Blood Screenings, HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis Screening, Typhoid, Prostate PSA, Blood Group, etc.

Further services include Ultrasound Screening and provision of Reading Glasses. Surgical procedures comprise Hernias, Hydrocele, Appendectomy, Fibroid, Hysterectomy (TAH & Vaginal), Goitre, and Cataract Surgeries. Health Promotion and Awareness initiatives focus on Lassa Fever, Breast Cancer, Cervical Cancer, Prostate Cancer, Diarrheal Diseases, Cholera, TB, HIV/AIDS, COVID, Ebola, and other health conditions.
Over 2,000 medical surgeries were carried out during the previous medical outreachs programme facilitated by the respected Federal lawmaker and Chairman House Committee on Finance for his constituents.
