The Member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, has embarked on a comprehensive tour of All Progressives Congress (APC) e-registration centres across the 10 wards of the constituency, as part of efforts to strengthen party membership and deepen grassroots mobilisation.
The tour took the lawmaker to several registration centres across Ikeja, Onigbongbo and Ojodu Local Council Development Areas, including Onilekere, Anifowose, Seriki Aro, Alausa, Opebi and GRA, as well as Ogba-Oluwole, Oke-Ira and Ojodu-Berger, all within the Ikeja Federal Constituency.
Addressing party members and registration agents at the various centres, Rt. Hon. Faleke emphasised the critical role of grassroots mobilisation in expanding the APC’s membership base. He disclosed that registered party members would constitute the primary beneficiaries of his forthcoming empowerment programmes, adding that wards that achieve agreed registration targets would be appropriately rewarded.
The lawmaker stressed the importance of the e-registration exercise, urging party stakeholders to intensify efforts to ensure maximum participation across the constituency. According to him, sustained mobilisation at the ward level remains essential to the growth and effectiveness of the party.
Faleke also commended the performance recorded during the first phase of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) voter registration exercise, while encouraging continued commitment. He noted that INEC has indicated plans to decentralise registration further by bringing services closer to residents in various wards.
Explaining his current priorities, the federal legislator said he deliberately suspended the annual mega empowerment programmes to focus on the APC e-registration initiative. He announced that this year’s mega empowerment exercise would adopt a new and unprecedented approach aimed at promoting inclusiveness and transparency.
Rt. Hon. Faleke reaffirmed his commitment to the people of Ikeja Federal Constituency, pledging to continue delivering the dividends of democracy. He added that his focus remains on grassroots engagement, party development and strengthening the APC’s presence in Ikeja Federal Constituency, Lagos State and across the nation.
The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olamilekan Dauda, joined the federal lawmaker on the tour of the APC e-registration centres across the constituency.
Meanwhile, the Executive Vice Chairman of Ojodu Local Council Development Area, Hon. Funmilayo Layeni, was on ground alongside other notable party leaders to receive the distinguished Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke at the Ward F, Ogba-Oluwole APC e-registration centre.
