ABUJA/LAGOS — The Member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, has expressed deep sorrow over the sudden passing of veteran Nollywood actor, Alhaji Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.
Faleke, in a condolence message issued on behalf of his family and the people of Ikeja Federal Constituency, described Ogogo’s death as a painful and irreparable loss to his family, the Nigerian entertainment industry and society at large.
He described the late actor as not only a dear friend but also a highly respected thespian whose remarkable career and immense contributions to the Nigerian creative industry earned him widespread admiration.
According to Faleke, Ogogo’s versatility saw him make significant contributions to both the English and Yoruba genres of Nollywood, establishing himself as one of the industry’s respected and enduring figures.
The lawmaker also noted that the late actor was a committed member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), adding that his contributions to the party and society would remain fondly remembered and deeply appreciated.
“On behalf of my family and the good people of Ikeja Federal Constituency, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, the Nollywood community and the entire creative industry over this painful and irreparable loss,” Faleke said.
He prayed that Almighty God would grant the bereaved family and loved ones the strength and fortitude to bear the loss, while also praying for the eternal repose of the soul of Alhaji Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.
