The programme was formally flagged off at the TSG national headquarters in Maitama, Abuja, drawing leaders and members of pro-Tinubu support groups from across the country.

Speaking at the event, the Convener of TSG and member of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as decisive and people-focused leadership amid prevailing economic challenges. Faleke said the rice distribution was a practical way of giving back to Nigerians and sharing in the joy of the festive season.

“This rice distribution is our way of giving back to the people and celebrating Christmas with them. President Tinubu means well for the nation and remains committed to listening to the concerns of Nigerians,” Faleke said.

He expressed appreciation to members of the various support groups for their sustained commitment to the party and the country, describing their efforts as critical to the success of the Tinubu administration. Faleke also urged members to brace up for forthcoming party activities, including the second phase of voter registration scheduled to commence in January.

“The party will soon unveil its programmes, and you must be ready. The next phase of voter registration starts in January. Mobilise people massively to register,” he charged.

The lawmaker further noted that the Tinubu Support Group played a pioneering role in President Tinubu’s political journey, stressing that the group believed in his vision long before his emergence as President.

“TSG is the pioneer of President Tinubu’s aspiration. We saw the vision and knew the nation needed his expertise. Today, he is President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Faleke added.

In his welcome address, the Director-General of TSG praised Faleke for fostering unity among the various support groups and for facilitating the rice distribution initiative. He disclosed that beneficiaries would cut across all 36 states of the federation, describing the exercise as a gesture of gratitude to members who contributed to President Tinubu’s electoral victory.

The Director-General also highlighted achievements of the Tinubu administration, including efforts at economic stabilisation, the student loan programme, improved funding for states, and strengthened local government autonomy. He urged members to continue to support and pray for the leadership of Hon. Faleke.

Dignitaries at the event included Senator Magnus Abe; Baffa Dan Agundi, Director-General of the National Productivity Centre; Abah Isah, Special Adviser to the President on Special Needs; Hon. (Engr.) Magaji Da’u Aliyu, Deputy Director-General (North) of TSG; and Chief Ayuba Gufwan, Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities.
