Some prepaid electricity consumers of the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (Ikeja DisCo) have been thrown into darkness for days over their inability to recharge.

Consumers complained that they could not recharge due to what vendors described as network failure.

Lateef Idris, an Ikeja resident and one of the consumer affected, lamented that effort to get the Ikeja DisCo to come to his aid since on Monday had been failed, even as he has been unable to recharge, hence remain in blackout for four days.

Our correspondent made a visit to the Ikeja Electric Head Office on Friday but the security who attended to the customers said it’s a network problem and the engineers are working on it.

Lagos Panorama also made efforts to contact Mr. Ayeni Akinola of the Corporate Communications for Ikeja Electric, who said it’s not a major issue, that some customers were able to recharge on Thursday in his presence. He hope the network will get better.
