LOK distributes 200 free JAMB registration slots, declares for Lagos State House of Assembly Ikeja Constituency I

LOK Foundation was flagged off with the distribution of over 200 JAMB registration slots to prospective students who are residents of the eight wards that make up the Ikeja Constituency 1 on Sunday at the Community Primary School, Wasimi, Maryland, Ikeja, Lagos.

Engr. Akerele in his opening remark noted that this is the third in the series of the distribution of JAMB registration in his annual educational support to less-privilege youth willing to have tertiary education.

The soft-spoken Engineer also stated that 22 boreholes were sunk in different communities of the Ikeja Constituency 1 by his LOK Foundation.

He also said “youths and market women were also empowered with support for their respective trade”.

“After a thorough screening early this year from over 300 applicants 200 hundred successful were selected for the JAMB registration slots and we’ll continue to monitor them, so as to support them whenever it’s necessary for them to excel” he affirmed.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for his continuous support and pledged their loyalty and support to the aspiration of Engr. Akerele if the need arises.

Engr. Luqmaan Akerele who is a graduate of Civil Engineer from the prestigious University of Lagos, also holds Masters in Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University, while speaking with the Lagos Panorama correspondent, alluded to the fact that he is ready to contest for the Lagos State House of Assembly for Ikeja Constituency 1, so as to bring the dividend of democracy to the people.

Engr. Akerele started his political career in the late 1990s in Onigbongbo ward, Ikeja Local Government of Lagos State. A foundation member of Alliance for Democracy (AD) when it was formed in 1998 and was the youth leader of the ward and later local government.

He also contested the party primaries for Lagos State House of Assembly Ikeja 01 Constituency in 2018 but lost to the incumbent. He is running again for the same position in the next general election coming up in 2023 on the platform of the same party, APC.
