Eight children found dead in a parked vehicle owned by a woman in Lagos

Eight children, that include three siblings and five other young children were reportedly found dead in a parked vehicle owned by a woman, Saliat Kazeem at Adelayo Street, Jah-Micheal along Badagry Expressway, Lagos.

Eight children, that include three siblings and five other young children were reportedly found dead in a parked vehicle owned by a woman, Saliat Kazeem at Adelayo Street, Jah-Micheal along Badagry Expressway, Lagos.

The incident was confirmed by the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, who said: “the eight children were said to have mistakenly locked themselves in an abandoned car while playing”.

Ajisebutu noted that their bodies have been recovered and deposited at the Badagry General Hospital’s morgue for an autopsy so as to determine the actual cause of death.

Notwithstanding the report made to the Police, the Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered a thorough and speedy investigation into the circumstances surrounding their death.

“The CP also commiserates with the families of the victims” the Lagos PPRO concluded in a brief media statement.
