The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State, Cornelius Ojelabi, has felicitated Muslim faithful across Lagos State and Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration, urging Nigerians to embrace the virtues of sacrifice, unity, love, and unwavering faith.
In a statement signed by Omobola Akingbehin, SSA Media to the Lagos APC Chairman on Media & Publicity, Hon. Ojelabi, on behalf of the State Executive Committee and the entire leadership of the party in Lagos State, described Eid-el-Kabir as a sacred festival that symbolizes total obedience to God and the enduring lessons exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS).
The Lagos APC Chairman called on Muslims and Nigerians generally to imbibe the values of tolerance, compassion, patience, and steadfastness in their daily lives for the collective peace, unity, and progress of the nation. He also reflected on the words of the Holy Qur’an in Surah Al-Hajj (22:37): “It is neither their meat nor their blood that reaches Allah, but it is piety from you that reaches Him.”
According to him, the season provides another opportunity for sober reflection, peaceful coexistence, and renewed commitment to nation-building.
Hon. Ojelabi further urged party faithful and Lagos residents to continue supporting the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu in their drive towards sustainable development, economic growth, and improved welfare for Nigerians.
“The lessons of Eid-el-Kabir remind us of the importance of sacrifice, patience, and steadfastness in overcoming challenges. As a people, we must remain united, hopeful, and committed to building a stronger and more prosperous Lagos and Nigeria,” he stated.
He also appealed to Nigerians to use the festive period to pray for peace, stability, and progress in the country, while encouraging Muslims to celebrate responsibly and extend love and support to the less privileged in society.
The APC Chairman reaffirmed the commitment of the Lagos APC leadership to continue working tirelessly towards good governance, grassroots development, and the overall progress of Lagos State.
He wished Muslim faithful a peaceful, joyful, and rewarding Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
