The Lagos State Police Command has assured the residents, especially muslim faithfuls in Lagos State of adequate security during the Eid-El Fitri Festival which comes up on Thursday 13th May, 2021.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, confirmed the preparedness of the Command to provide adequate security during the Eid-El Fitri celebration which comes up on Thursday 13th May, 2021, after addressing the Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, Police Mobile Force Commanders and Tactical Commanders on Monday 10th May, 2021, at the POWA Hall, Oduduwa Ikeja, on the Command’s Anti-Crime strategies being put in place for the festivity. He also confirmed that an appreciable number of Police personnel has been deployed across the State for provision of adequate security, traffic management and enforcement of COVID-19 protocols as stipulated by the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19.

The Commissioner of Police also directed that the State Intelligence Bureau (SIB) and the Command’s Monitoring Unit should intensify efforts to maintain robust intelligence gathering and proactive measures to Police the State during the Eid-El Fitri Festival and beyond.

The Police boss advised the muslim faithfuls and fun seekers to be moderate, be security conscious during this festivity.

The Command however warned miscreants and hoodlums to seize the opportunity of this festive period to turn over a new leaf and stop being a thorn in the flesh of innocent Lagosians as adequate security has been emplaced to tackle all forms of criminality in Lagos State during this festivity and beyond.

CP Hakeem Odumosu therefore felicitated with muslim faithfuls on the successful completion of the fasting and prayed that Almighty Allah (SWT) accept their prayers and spare their lives to witness more of the holy month in good health. Amen.
