DSVA storms Odi-Olowo LCDA, declares war on Gender-Based Violence

The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has extended its grassroots campaign against sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) to Odi-Olowo LCDA, engaging the community during its general CDC meeting on February 4, 2025.

The Executive Secretary of DSVA, Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, underscored the critical role of community engagement in combating SGBV, stressing that CDCs serve as vital channels for fostering awareness, vigilance, and prompt response to cases of abuse.

In an interactive session led by Mr. Akinde Emmanuel, participants delved into the alarming prevalence of SGBV, debunking misconceptions while exploring preventive strategies and the necessity of reporting incidents.

He also outlined the array of support services available for survivors and community members.

Chairman of the Odi-Olowo LCDA CDC, J.P. Otunba Adekunle Adebayo, lauded DSVA’s initiative, emphasizing its relevance to the community. He pledged the CDC’s unwavering commitment to amplifying the message and ensuring cases of abuse are promptly reported.

The campaign wrapped up with the distribution of DSVA’s toll-free helpline, 08000-333-333, reaffirming the agency’s dedication to accessible support. Community members vowed to be proactive in reporting and addressing SGBV, ensuring that no survivor suffers in silence.
