Suspected operatives of the Department of the State Service, DSS, have arrested the President of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Joe Ajaero.

According to reports, Ajaero was apprehended earlier this morning at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

The arrest took place just as Ajaero was about to board a flight to the United Kingdom for an official assignment.

He was reportedly en route to attend a conference organized by the Trade Union Congress (TUC), which is scheduled to take place today in the UK.
