A medical doctor, Chinelo Megafu, who was killed in the ill-fated Kaduna-bound train attacked by terrorists on March 28, has been laid to rest in Lagos.

A medical doctor, Chinelo Megafu, who was killed in the ill-fated Kaduna-bound train attacked by terrorists on March 28, has been laid to rest in Lagos.

She was buried at the Ebony Private Cemetery, Ikoyi, Lagos.

Chinelo, who was a University of Port Harcourt-trained dental surgeon, died from the wounds she sustained in the deadly attack.

She was one of the eight persons confirmed dead in the attack, which left many abducted.

Her family, friends and well-wishers gathered at the funeral service in her honour at Shepherdhill Baptist Church, Obanikoro, Lagos, to pay their last respects.

Chinelo tweeted during the attack that she had been shot in one of the first messages from victims that conveyed the gravity of their situation.

“I’m on the train. I have been shot. Please pray for me,” she tweeted.

Her tweet elicited varied reactions as some Twitter users empathised with her while others described her tweet as “fake news” hurling vile comments at the deceased, implying she was lying.

Chinelo, served at Kaduna Dental Centre and worked with St. Gerard’s Hospital, Kakuri, before her untimely death.
