Governors from the southern part of Nigeria under the aegis of Southern Governors Forum have scheduled an important meeting to hold in Lagos to discuss the developments in the polity, especially insecurity and welfare of people of the zone.

Lagos Monitoring Team can authoritatively confirm that the meeting will hold in Lagos, as part of measures to seriously find lasting solutions to the myriad of challenges confronting the people of southern Nigeria.

The last time the Governors met in Asaba, Delta State, a number of conclusions were reached, including ban on open grazing in southern Nigeria.

The decision did not go down well with the Muhammadu Buhari administration which issued a statement to show disapproval.

In the early hours of yesterday, the Ibadan house of Yoruba activist, Sunday Igboho was attacked in a joint operation led by the Department of State Security (DSS).

The DSS, at a press briefing, admitted killing two persons in Igboho’s house, while also claiming that it recovered ammunitions, charms and other dangerous items during the attack.

Just few days ago, the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu was intercepted and brought back to the country after jumping bail about three years ago, to continue his trial in a Nigerian Federal High Court.

Reports of insecurity abound in all parts of southern Nigeria and it is expected that the meeting of the Governors will address the developments in the polity with regard to insecurity and economic hardship the people are subjected to, among others.
