The Deeper Life Bible Church has refuted a viral online report claiming that its founder and General Superintendent, Pastor William F. Kumuyi, made comments regarding the recent diplomatic tensions between Nigeria and the United States.
The report, which originated from an online platform, alleged that Pastor Kumuyi dismissed claims of a “Christian genocide” in Nigeria and accused the U.S. of attempting to “steal Nigeria’s natural resources.” The platform further claimed the cleric made the remarks in reaction to a purported statement credited to former U.S. President Donald Trump, threatening to “invade Nigeria guns-a-blazing” if the government failed to address alleged persecution of Christians.
In a statement issued on Sunday through its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the Deeper Life Bible Church described the publication as false and misleading.
The statement read:
“Any recent news reports or public statements being attributed to Pastor W.F. Kumuyi are false and inaccurate. Pastor Kumuyi is fully engaged with the Global Crusade with Kumuyi (The GCKHQ), which has recently held events in Fiji, the Solomon Islands, and Pakistan. He has not granted any recent press interviews or made public statements on other matters.”
The church urged members of the public to disregard the report and desist from spreading unverified information capable of causing confusion or misrepresenting the revered cleric.
