The All Progressive Congress, Onigbongbo LCDA ward D on Friday hosted the Ikeja Federal Constituency Walk Through campaign rally for all its candidates towards the forthcoming general elections.
The grassroots/Stakeholders engagement rally is aimed at soliciting support for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Presidential ambition, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s reelection bid, Idiat Adebule Lagos West Senatorial District, Rt. Hon James Abiodun Faleke reelection as Member House Representatives for Ikeja Federal Constituency, as well as Prince Seyi Lawal and reelection of Adedamola Richard Kasunmu for the Lagos State House of Assembly for Ikeja Constituency 1 and 11 respectively.
The Walk Through Rally Campaign which took off from the Palace of Baale of Abule Onigbagbo terminated at Ojo Olowo Street off Salvation Road Opebi after passing through Mobolaji Bank Anthony, Toyin Street and adjoining Streets in Opebi.
Before taking off, His royal highness High Chief E.A. Shogunle offered his royal blessing by praying for all the APC Candidates in the coming elections.
He also encouraged the people to go and get their Permanent Voters Cards ready to be able to vote for all the Candidates, he subsequently led by example by displaying his own PVC.
While responding the Onigbongbo LCDA Chairperson Alhaja Iyabo Akerele thanked the monarch and prayed for long life on the throne.
The Onigbongbo ward D rally also known as the Elite ward was attended by Political leaders, LGA Executives, counsellors, Stakeholders, loyalists and members. Among whom is the Executive Chairman Onigbongbo LCDA, Honorable Dotun Olakanle, Ikeja APC LGA Chairman, Alhaji Dally Adeokun, Chairperson Ojodu LCDA Alhaja Olusola Kokumo and Alhaji Muyideen Kehinde Onifade and Prince Seyi Lawal who stand in for all the candidates
In her welcome speech Alhaja Iyabo Akerele once again called on all the people to get their PVCs ready as is the only weapon they have, she emphasized by asking them to start the House to house Campaign in earnest, most especially the women whom she encouraged to go to every nook and crane to mobilize as in their slogan.
Also speaking in the same vein, Alhaji Adeokun after commending and thanking the three Councils Chairmen for their support for the walk campaign so far, stated that six wards is remaining and that the campaign will be concluded in two weeks’ time so as to allow the mobilization for the House to house to commence.
Furthermore, he implored the Polling unit Committee to get their forms to start the compilation of their 20-man names for voting. He also warned against the writing of fictitious names by agents but those people with PVCs should have their names written, he concluded.
The train rally moves to Ojodu ward E on Monday.
